Hardy Chisel Breaks Through!!

Updates:

The Royal Victory Thoroughbred partners nervously paced in the Winner's Circle. It was an impressive victory for the determined Hardy Chisel, who sprinted to the lead from gate, felt pressure around the turn, and then repelled all challengers from inside and out as he bounded home ahead of the six other aspiring maidens across the finish line. It was a close, exciting and an enthralling VICTORY! Or was it...…..What was going on?

As Hardy Chisel triumphantly returned to the Winner's Circle to celebrate his accomplishment alongside his trainer and owner connections, an Objection was lodged against him for alleged interference in the deep stretch. Could it be? Would his victory tainted? The replay showed the supposed interference on the viewing monitors again and again. It played the pan-view, rewind, and again. Then, it played head-on view and back to the pan view. Slow motion. Super slow motion. Hardy Chisel was clear in front and the owners saw no basis for disqualification. Yet, the Objection sign remained visible and ominous as the Royal Victory Thoroughbred partners paced.....and paced.....and paced.

After an endless wait, track announcer Tom Harris could be heard, "Ladies and Gentlemen" - the crucial moment had arrived. Would the racing officials determine our innocent young gelding was guilty of interfering with the horse on the rail? Would he vindicate his performance and declare him the official winner? Harris continued "after the review by the Stewards"..... fingers crossed...…"there will be no change to the order of finish. They Stewards have determined there is no evidence of interference warranting a disqualification".

And the celebrations began! After several seconds and thirds for RVT over the course of 2018, Hardy Chisel has become the first Royal Victory Thoroughbred horse to break through in 2018, scoring a 3/4 length victory in just his third career race. He was purchased at the WTBOA auction as a yearling in 2017 and syndicated for racing by Royal Victory Thoroughbreds earlier this year. Beyond the emotional victory, Hardy Chisel provided a thrilling finish and showed a tenacious will to win. He is still maturing, learning and improving and we look forward to more exciting days ahead from this young gelding.

Hardy Chisel reminded us....how it feels to scream through the wire..... to let inhibitions go..... to celebrate victory.... to embrace our unbridled emotions......and finally, he reinforced our love for racing and our lust for winning. Everyone should have the chance to experience the incredible high in witnessing your horse fire down the lane and cross the wire ahead of all his competitors. While we had to wait a little bit longer and experience some additional drama due to the objection, we finally had our celebration inside the Winner's Circle!! Thanks Hardy Chisel!
